Radiofrequency Procedure

What Is Radiofrequency (RF) Procedure?

The Radiofrequency (RF) procedure delivers targeted heat to the deeper layers of the skin and has been used in dermatology for decades to minimize fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating new collagen production.

For dry eyes, Eye Studio uses a custom-designed handpiece on both the upper and lower eyelids to deliver targeted heat to the meibomian glands. This process melts away blockages, significantly improving gland function and relieving dry eye symptoms.

Benefits of RF

Enhances meibomian glands functionality

Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles

New collagen production

Eyelid tightening which reduces eyelid drooping

What to Expect During Treatment

Before the treatment, gel will be applied to the treatment area. During the procedure, the handpiece will deliver heat to the upper and lower eyelids separately, massaging back and forth along the eyelid area. The sensation is similar to a hot stone massage. Each treatment zone will be treated for about 10 minutes. For optimal results, we recommend 4 sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart.

Post-Procedure Care

Since RF is a safe and non-invasive in-office procedure, you can resume your daily activities immediately after treatment. Common responses may include temporary redness around the treatment area and mild swelling, which typically subside within a few hours. After the session, we recommend moisturizing and avoiding excessive heat in the treated zone. RF works rapidly, and many patients experience relief within 1-2 days after the initial session.
