Jasan Uppal
Dr. Jasan Uppal was born and raised in Toronto, Canada where he completed his Bachelors of Science with Honors in Biology from the prestigious University of Toronto. He then went on to study optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry, graduating cum laude.
After completing optometry school, Dr. Uppal pursued a post-graduate residency specialty program in primary care/ocular disease at the Illinois Eye Institute. He developed high proficiency in treating and managing eye diseases and conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye, and diabetes. He worked alongside esteemed optometry and ophthalmology faculty to solidify his craft. Dr. Uppal worked as an assistant professor at the Illinois College of Optometry for 3 years teaching clinical, laboratory, and didactic components to optometry students before moving to Arizona.
Academia is a lifelong passion for Dr. Uppal. He is currently an adjunct clinical professor at Midwestern University. He strives to advance the future of eyecare by mentoring young optometrist to be the best in our field.
Outside of optometry, Dr. Uppal has a passion for music. He finds his rhythm by learning how to play new instruments and listening to music from around the world.
Living in Arizona has brought out the outdoorsy side of Dr. Uppal. He enjoys hiking and long bike rides with his loving wife and dog, Mia.

Jeevan Sandhu
Dr. Jeevan Sandhu was born in New York and quickly learned the cold climate is not for her as she made her way to Arizona. Her passion for vision and eye care began in early high school while volunteering at community health clinics. She attended Arizona State University where she completed her Bachelors of Science. She then further pursued her doctorate at Illinois College of Optometry.
Dr. Sandhu enjoys working with patients of all ages to achieve their best vision. She is well-versed in the medical model of optometry, including diagnosis and treatment of dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and co-management of diabetic eye disease. She has a vested interest in pediatric care and acknowledges the importance of children’s eye exams to ensure proper visual development allowing the young mind to explore the world around them.
When she is not practicing optometry, Dr. Sandhu is in the kitchen pretending to be a culinary artist by trying new recipes and baking sugary delights. Dr. Sandhu also enjoys playing tennis, traveling, entertaining, and above all spending time with her husband and fur child, Mia.
Missty
With over 5 years of experience in the optical world, Missty is well-versed in eyeglasses and contact lenses. She is friendly and helpful when it comes to picking out your perfect new pair of eyeglasses or discussing the best contact lenses for your lifestyle. She is particularly knowledgeable in custom measurements for progressive lenses and a wide range of anti-reflective options. At Scottsdale Eyeology, we call her our adjustment queen because she has turned the most crooked/misshapen pairs of eyeglasses into a well-fitting frame.
Outside of the office, Missty enjoys being outdoors and traveling with her husband and dog, Sandi. Missty also expresses her artsy side through canvas painting.
Yurie
Yurie has lived in Arizona her whole life and loves the winters here! She currently attends Benedictine University in downtown Mesa where she studies Psychology and Spanish. Her affection for optical started right after high school and has since then developed into a passion!
Yurie enjoys styling our patients with trendy frames and using her knowledge with lenses to help our patients see the best they can. She also enjoys helping new contact lens wearers by training them on how to maintain and be comfortable wearing contacts.
Outside of Scottsdale Eyeology, Yurie finds herself being a book worm and always looking for new book recommendations. She also enjoys indoor plants and takes care of our plants in the office. She is a huge soccer fan and enjoys watching soccer matches on her free time, GO LIVERPOOL! When she is not busy with other errands you can find her spending time and going on adventures with her fur baby, Bosley.
Wendy
Wendy was born in Los Angeles, California but was raised in Arizona. Wendy started off her career in the optical world with billing and coding, then expanded her knowledge to patient care as an optometric technician and is currently becoming an optician. When it comes to eyeglasses, she loves helping patients combine style with functionality and quality. Wendy’s love for the optical world is growing and she excited to spread her knowledge.
When Wendy is not working with eyeballs, she is a foodie! She loves baking and trying out new foods. Most importantly, Wendy enjoys spending her time with her loved ones and her four-legged friends, Kita and Gordo.
